Time Line of World History Especially for School Projects |
| 4004 B.C. (We use it as BC) | In the beginning . . . | The beginning of world history can be derived only from adding the data of the generation time tables of the Book of Genesis. This work has been done by a man named James Ussher who calculated 4004 B.C. as the year when God created everything. He concluded that the first day of creation was on October 23rd, based on the autumn equinox for that year. We assume Ussher's date derivations for those periods may be just as good as anyone elses. |
| 3874 BC | Cain murdered Abel and Seth was born. | Since Adam was 130 years of age (yoa) when Seth was born, Ussher uses 128 yoa because of partial year calendrics, I believe. |
| 2349 BC | Noah commanded to build the ark |
| 2348 BC | Ussher says Noah left the ark on October 23rd. | The Flood of Noah |
| 1950 BC (We now digress from Ussher's dates.) | Abraham born | See more details until the Exodus here. |
| 1445 BC | Year of the Exodus and the giving of the Law of God on Mt. Sinai/Jebel el Lawz |
| The next over 400 years Israel's history is written up in the books of Moses, Joshua, Judges and 1. and 2. Samuel. It is presented here. From now on we include some major events in surrounding nations. |
| 1445 BC | After the war between Israel and Amalek at Mt. Sinai, the Amalekites separated and proceeded north along the eastern shore of the Gulf of Aqaba toward the Mediterranean coast and from there into Egypt. Both, Israel and Amalek were numerous people, otherwise Amalek would not haved dared to attack Israel, | and since Pharaoh and all his army had died in the Red Sea (Gulf of Aqaba), the Amalekites had no opposition upon entering Egypt and took over the country. In modern history books they became known as the Hyksos. You can read more about them here and here. | [Please note that our Mt. Sinai is always Jebel el Lawz, otherwise we would say the `traditional' Mt. Sinai.] |

Israelite Monarchy King Saul reigned from ca. 1050-1010 BC King David from ca. 1010 - 1070 BC King Solomon from ca. 1070 - 1030 BC We shall use these dates for these kings. |
Egyptian 18th Dynasty Ahmose from ca. 1023 BC, the year the Hyksos/Amalekite King Agog/Apop was defeated and killed by the prophet Samuel. See chart. | Because David had spilled much blood in wars, the Lord wanted his son Solomon to build the temple. The next major event was the building of the Lord's Temple in Jerusalem by Solomon (finished in ca. 950 BC) and the visit of the Queen of Sheba in the court of King Solomon in ca. 923 BC. | Encyclo |

Chart A Chart B | Solomon's son Rehoboam reigned only 5 years and his kingdom of the 12 tribes was divided because of his sins and Jeroboam (ca. 932-911 BC) took 10 tribes, leaving Rehoboam (930-918 BC) only Judah and Benjamin, the total of his reign was 12 years. | The other parallel event was the incursion of Pharaoh Shishak (Thutmose III, coreign with Hathsepsut between 948-926 (sole) - ca. 910) and the robbing of the treasures of the Temple (in the 5th yr of Rehoboam, 23rd of ThutIII) and everything else his soldiers could find. |
For the lengthy period of the kings of Judah and Israel see the charts menu. The time of Solomon was also that of his three eventual enemies: Hadad the Edomite, Rezin, son of Eliada (1.Kings 11). Of these we identified Hadad with Shamsi-Adad (active between 1000 to 955 BC), Rezin with Zimri Lim (active between 980 to 930 BC) and Eliada with Iahdulim (active between ca. 1020? - 983? BC). |

The History of other continents and countries as you find it in books on ancient history is mostly based on humanistic dates. By that we mean the millions of years and thousands and thousands of years because of their belief in evolution instead of 6 days of creation. We disagree with that as shown here. But their dependence on evolutionistic derived dates cause them to always try and connect some findings of old culture (bed rock) to some Neanderthal types or some migrant types on all continents. They invented a nightmarish scenario which always has to be adjusted and re-adjusted by large numbers of years because of Carbon 14 dates and similar man made inventions. Therefore, when other continents were settled - continents like the Americas, Australia, Alaska, and the Pacific Islands, are too large a topic to discuss here but they were all settled by man after the great, world wide, catastrophic Flood in the days of Noah and by sea faring men and their families as best as we can tell. |
| The other chronological points we want to point out and which we discuss in various papers we provided starting links for, is this - Conventional chronology of the Bible lands has been misconstrued because of the believe in the millions of years and the believe that a world wide flood did not happen. They are greatly mistaken on that because they do not believe the Word of God. We just briefly point to this link on the origin of evil as perhaps a gage to get an idea how involved the reign of God and the existence of man on earth is and how they relate. |
| EA Chart Notice `Ben Hadad' under Damascus. | From a world history standpoint, the next major event about which we have much information is the El Amarna Period (870-840 BC). That too is a great subject and includes the identity of personalities like, of course, the prophets of Judah and Israel, the kings and on the side of non-Jewish kings, the rulers of Mesopotamia - man like Ben Hadad (880-841 BC) and Jezebel (ca. 880-840), queen of King Ahab (874-853 BC). |
| Chart on Sargon etc. | Next comes the Assyrian Empire. Here too we have numerous articles which explain in great detail how the rulers of these empires interacted with Judah/Israel and how that all played out in world history. You may click on these links: Judith (event in ca. 700 BC), Sargon (723-705, as Sennacherib, 785-681 BC) and Turtan (Esarhaddon revised date 700-689 BC) for examples. The Ten Tribes, northern Israel with their capital of Samaria were destroyed and/or taken captive by ca. 721 BC. |
| Data on Ramses and the chart. | The Assyrian empire (900-606 BC) was replaced by Babylon (629 - 538 BC) and now the time of the 19th Dynasty Pharaoh (ca. 664 - ca. 524 BC), Ramses II, the Great (609-569 BC), begins. | Encyclo |

For the continuation of the history of the Middle East between 400 and 340 BC see the following articles: The 21st Dynasty Part A The 21st Dynasty Part B Ramses III All of these articles have links to additional articles for those interested in more details. Dates are usually included in the articles themselves as long as they are known well enough. Please remember, that from ca. 400 BC to the time of Jesus we have no Bible books and therefore no biblical information on the 20th Dynasty, that of Ramses III and his time. The only Bible book covering that period are the prophecies in the Book of Daniel. We cover this 400 years period in these charts: chart 460 to 360 BC, 360 to 260 BC, chart 360- to 260 BC, chart 260 to 160 BC and chart 140 to 60 BC. |
| In the chart here linked to you find info on the time of Jesus. Please notice the part on how Jews reckoned the time of day. |
