A detail of the central panel on a massive limestone throne base found at Nimrud shows a ceremonial meeting of the Assyrian king Shalmaneser III (right) and Marduk-zakir-shumi (left) whom he had reinstated on the throne of Babylon. The kings appear to meet as equals helping us understand how he conducts himself in his EA letters to Egypt's Akhnaton.
